MUSIC   INSTRUCTION   &   INSTRUMENT   REPAIR

Music is fun. Music is life. Music is 'my life'.

I would like to share my passion with those who are interested in learning more about the wonderful world of music.

I am a professional musician of over 20 years.

For further details on my history and career in the music industry,

please visit the links on my home page. The link is at the bottom of this page.

I am available for guitar, bass, and drum lessons. I am located in Louisville, Ky.

I teach out of my home located in the heart of St. Matthews.

St. Matthews is located in the east end of Louisville.

I specialize in guitar instruction and have changed the way lessons are taught.

I teach the same way I learned... by ear. I teach the basics in music theory,

the essentials that one must know to make music.

I do not teach my students in the way that 99% of instructors would.

I try to make it fun right from the beginning.

In the case of teaching beginners, after the basic theory and concept of the instrument is explained,

that's when the fun starts. If you are a first time player, I will have you picking actual songs in no time.

Most teachers would have you playing random single notes and scales for weeks (just to keep you there longer).

I teach to see folks play and enjoy music... not to milk every last dime from them by

teaching them all kinds of nonsense that they don't want to learn.

Like I said, music is fun.

As for individuals who have a bit of playing time under their belt,

I guarantee, we'll have some real fun. If you already know how to play and just want to learn some cool stuff...

I love to "trade licks". Blues is my specialty, although I am fluent in almost any style .

I can have you learning Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix licks, modern heavy metal,

or that sweet country twang faster than you would think.

My schedule as well as my rates are very flexible. I custom tailor the lessons for each musician's needs.

Let me tell you, you won't find anything remotely close to that at "Joe Bob's Music Store" down the street.

I am very personal and in touch with my students. I try to really connect with each person

and treat them like fellow professionals. Having a good friendship with your instructor will always make a big

difference. I teach in a relaxed setting with the feeling of just "hangin' out and jamming".

I'll say it again... Music is fun.

If you need a little fine tuning or repair done on your guitar,

I am able to get that ole' guit-fiddle back to top-notch shape.

I don't do major body repair, but I can set intonations, bridges, necks,

fix electrical problems, or any other routine maintenance that your instrument may need.

If you are interested in all that playing music has to offer, please feel free to contact me

with any questions you may have. I am always eager to help bring another great player into the world.

The feeling of playing good music is a feeling you'll never forget. Believe that.

Be Cool! ~ Don
